Published: 12 Aug 2019Title: CONTROLLED FIRES PLANNED DENNEOORD AND GARDEN ROUTE DAM NEXT TWO WEEKS Status: George Municipality Fire Department will be conducting controlled burns above Denneoord and around the Garden Route Dam as part of fuel reduction and veld fire management activities in August. Burns are weather and wind direction dependent, and therefor no specific dates are available.

Once completed, the heightened dam wall will increase its storage capacity by 25%. Construction is expected to be completed next year.

Eagles surprise passengers on bus

Three SWD Eagles rugby players hopped on a GO GEORGE bus last Friday morning to promote their Super Sport Challenge game against the Border Bulldogsat Outeniqua Park on Friday night. As part of the promotion, theyhanded out free tickets to the game, much to the delight of the passengers. Spasina Coeries from Blanco was most pleased to receive her ticket from the friendly flyhalf, Martin du Toit. With two bus stops conveniently situated close to Outeniqua Park, the community is encouraged to take a bus to the stadium to attend rugby games and support the local team.

Onderskrif: Drie SWD Arende-rugbyspelers het verlede Vrydagoggend op ’n GO GEORGE-bus gehop om hul Super Sport-uitdagingwedstryd teen die Grens Bulldogs op Outeniquapark die aand te adverteer. As deel van die promosie het hulle gratis kaartjies vir die wedstryd uitgedeel, tot groot plesier van die passasiers.Spasina Coeries van Blanco was baie in haar skik toe die vriendelike losskakel, Martin du Toit, vir haar ook ’n kaartjie gee. Met twee bushaltes gerieflik digby Outeniquapark, word die publiek aangemoedig om met ’n bus stadion toe te ry om rugby te gaan kyk en die plaaslike span te ondersteun.
