George Municipality creates awareness against gender based violence

George Municipality in collaboration with other stakeholders are creating awareness against gender based violence from 25 November to 10 December.

Officials from the Community Development section are distributing information during this time to create awareness against gender based violence within the different communities.

Cllr Sean Snyman, Portfolio Councillor for Community Development, said: “The 16 days of activism as well as every day is about protecting the rights of all genders and the basic human rights of being safe and secure. People must take a stand and eradicate gender based violence in our communities.

George Municipality will have a march with other stakeholders on 5 December 2019.

The march will start from 10am from Kidstop in Borcherds , through the area to Lawaaikamp Hall over the robot into Parkdene, down to the cross of Maraiskamp through Conville to the Conville Community Hall, where a short programme will be held.
