George Tourism Promotes Go George At Indaba

The potential tourism advantages of the GO GEORGE bus service were highlighted at the South African Tourism Indaba in Durban last week (16-18 May 2017).

Representing the greater George area at the showcase, George Tourism Manager Joan Shaw highlighted GO GEORGE as another reason to choose the town and region as a tourism destination. “GO GEORGE has been marketed extensively to the people of George, but now it is time to take the message to a broader audience, letting the tourism industry know that George is now more accessible than ever,” she said.

In addition to generally marketing the region, Ms Shaw did a presentation on the bus service and handing out information and GO GEORGE badges to interested parties.

As one of the largest tourism marketing events on the African calendar, Indaba showcases a wide variety of Southern Africa's best tourism products and attracts international buyers and media from across the world.  The event also has a dedicated following of local and international media who provide extensive coverage of the exhibition for the local and international markets through radio, television, newspaper and dedicated travel publications, as well as digital platforms.
