Once completed, the heightened dam wall will increase its storage capacity by 25%. Construction is expected to be completed next year.

Municipal Spatial Development Framework

The George Municipal Council approved the publication of the draft amendment of the MSDF for comment in terms of Section 7(1)(b) of the Land Use Planning By-Law for George Municipality, 2015.  Members of public and interested parties are hereby invited to submit written representations in respect of the draft MSDF.  Representations must be addressed to the Municipal Manager and be submitted in writing by no later than 05 December 2018 at:

  • 5th Floor, Civic Centre, York Street, George;
  • P O Box 9, George, 6530;
  • E-mailed to: dpower@george.gov.za
