Thembalethu Fire Brigade Facelift to Sleeping Quarters

The Thembalethu Fire Brigade personnel could not believe their eyes when a team from Oakhurst Insurance unveiled their newly decorated sleeping and lounge quarters. Mr Peter Grundlay of Oakhurst and his team hosted a handover ceremony last week Tuesday at the Thembalethu  Fire Services in Jeriko Street, Thembalethu attended by Fire Chief Neels Barnard and Cllr Cecil Noble, Portfolio Councillor for Protection Services.

Mr Grundlay said “ this was a token of gratitude to the Fire Services that once again pales in significance to the magnitude of the work they do for us.” He thanked his own team for an excellent job done and local business partners who also stepped up and ensured the success of the project. Oakhurst also renovated the George Fire Brigade quarters in Mitchell Street last year.

Cllr Noble said to the Fire heroes, “Our community might not say it every day, but you are family. Carry on respecting one another and safeguarding one another. You are so valuable to us and we as George Municipality are so proud of you. Thank you for your hard work.”  He thanked Oakhurst for their contribution in making the Fire Brigade’s working day a bit more comfortable.

Fire Chief Barnard also thanked Oakhurst on behalf of the Fire Brigade for the difference they have made in the fire fighters’  everyday workspace.
