Title Deed Handover

George Municipality is committed to creating human settlements and enabling its residents to leave behind something tangible for their loved ones. The department has embarked on a Title Deed Handover project which is managed by the Human Settlements Department under Acting Deputy Director: Edwin Herandien and in conjunction with the Western Cape Department of Human Settlements.

As part of the Title Deed Handover project, beneficiaries are formally invited to attend a Housing Consumer Education (HCE) workshop followed by the official handover.  The Housing Consumer Education has been reimagined to enable beneficiaries to understand the value of their property and ensure that their asset grows in worth and becomes the cornerstone of their family.  As part of this education is understanding the responsibilities that befall homeowners and ensuring the responsibilities are upheld. The project aims to instil in beneficiaries the importance of neighbourhood and community and that only together will we be able to build sustainable human settlements.
