Update - Water Emergency for Wilderness and surrounds
PUBLIC NOTIFICATION: THURSDAY 17 October @ 10H15
STATUS OF WATER SUPPLY – REMAINS AT EMERGENCY STATUS
CONSUMPTION OF WATER REMAINS TOO HIGH. Reservoirs at Touwrantens and Hoekwil have run dry.
All other reservoirs on critical level. Ebb and Flow Water Treatment Works is unable to fulfil demand.
Consumers to please note that expected LOADSHEDDING from 14h00- 16h30 today will affect production for the Water Treatment Works this afternoon.
Residents are reminded the system remains vulnerable until the repair on the Kaaiman’s Railway Bridge has been finalised.
Residents are requested to report any ‘new’ areas experiencing a complete lack of water at numbers below so it can be investigated and addressed.
INTERIM WATER SUPPLY
5 x 5000 litre Water tanks are located at Bundu Supersave and along Remskoen Dr.
Water trucks are stationed at Hoekwil shop, Touwsranten Community Centre and water trucks are roaming in Wilderness Heights. If trucks not visible, please note they will return after filling up.
UPDATE ON REPAIR PLANNING AND SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS
Work on the temporary pipeline along Kaaiman’s Railway Bridge is on track and progressing very well.
