The Funda Mzantsi project was started as part of the National Library Services of South Africa’s mandate to inculcate a culture of reading amongst South Africans. In 2013, the Department of Correctional Services decided to join hands with the NLSA upon realising the role reading played in the rehabilitation of offenders.
