PUBLIC NOTICE: THE VEHICLE TESTING STATION TEMPORARILY CLOSED FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD

The Vehicle Testing Station (VTS) located on Hibernia Street (next to the train station) has been temporarily closed for upgrading and replacement of equipment and would have been reopened on 27 March 2023. Due to technical issues, the facility will be closed for another week and re-open on 03 April 2023. We apologise for any inconvenience caused. The public is advised to use private vehicle testing stations.

Also note that as per Easter Plan communicated to the public, the free vehicle testing for periods 31 March, and 01 April 2023 will not be able to take place, but will be provided from 03rd to 06th April 2023. When it is operational, the Vehicle Testing station opens weekdays from 08h30 – 15h30 and can be contacted at 044 801 9312.

<<<<Due to the slight improvement in available generation capacity and the lower than anticipated demand, loadshedding will remain suspended until 05:00 on Wednesday morning when Stage 2 load shedding will be implemented. Eskom load shedding update – 20 March 2023

Eskom load shedding: Due to the significantly lower than anticipated demand for electricity today, load shedding will be suspended at 11:00 today until 16:00 on Tuesday 21 March, when Stage 2 loadshedding will be implemented.
