RESERVOIRS are recovering but still critical in some places
– WATER BALANCING REMAINS IN PLACE
George Municipality, 27 November @ 06H30

George Municipality continues to appeal to the residents of George to USE WATER SPARINGLY and ONLY FOR NECESSITIES – the RESERVOIRS remain critical. We thank the public for their co-operation thus far, without it the network will take longer to stabilize.

Water trucks have not been dispersed due to inclement weather this morning, however, it will be dispersed later this morning to areas that do not have running water yet. An update on the water situation will also be given at 09h30 this morning.

The George Municipality has yesterday afternoon been forced to implement rebalancing of the water system. The areas that have all had water (since Monday 23 November) have been switched off:

These include: Blanco, Heatherlands, Heatherpark, Glenbarrie
Kingswood, King George Park, Rooirivierrif
Thembalethu, Kraaibosch, Blue mountain, Glenwood
Ballotsview, Parkdene, Conville
Borchard, Lawaaikamp, Proteapark, Loerie Park, Eden
The Civil Engineering Services Department will continue to monitor until the reservoirs have recovered enough before opening full network again.
NOTE: Thembalethu, Pacaltsdorp, Herold’s Bay and Oubaai have sufficient water reserves not to require water tankers.
