Please be advised that Motor Vehicle Registration (MVR) Hibernia, MVR Blanco, Driving Licence Testing Centre (DLTC) in Pacaltsdorp, and Vehicle Testing Station (VTS) will be closed from 2 pm on Wednesday, 17 July 2024.
All services will resume as normal on 18 July 2024.
Upgrading of the George South Stormwater Infrastructure Phase 1.
An emergency repair will be conducted on Rooiels Avenue in Heather Park.
The estimated duration for the repair is 4 hours.

A Yellow Level 2 Warning affecting George has been received from the South African Weather Service (SAWS). A cold front associated with a steep upper air trough is expected to result in strong to near gale westerly to north-westerly winds (40 to 60 km/h between Table Bay and Plettenberg Bay on Sunday, 14 July 2024. Wave heights of 3 to 4.56 metres are expected from Saturday, 13 July 2024 morning while the winds are only expected from the afternoon.

A planned construction of the New Pacaltsdorp (East) reservoir, tower & pump station, initially scheduled to take place on weekdays, will also include tomorrow, Saturday, 13 July 2024 between 07:00 and 14:00.
SERVICE DISRUPTION:
Minor operational interruptions can be expected during the construction works. Advance notification of planned temporary disruptions and the effects thereof will be issued via social media.
TRAFFIC IMPACT:
Residents, road users and pedestrians need to exercise caution throughout the construction period. Please adhere to flag persons, temporary construction works and road signage.

A large part of Wilderness experienced voltage issues due to a faulty Eskom breaker. This issue has now been resolved and the power supply has been restored to most parts of Wilderness.
However, we still have parts of Erica and Silverbos Roads blocked off due to vegetation.

Motorists are requested to drive cautiously following an accident involving a cyclist and a truck on the N2 near Old Radermachers. Emergency officials are at the scene, and a stop-and-go is in place.
