Ald Jackie von Brandis (DA)

Executive Mayor Jackie von Brandis was born in Pretoria in November 1984 and is the youngest of three children. Due to the nature of her late father's occupation, Jackie and her family relocated to George in the late 1990s. She attended PW Botha High School, now Eden Technical School, where she excelled academically and boasts a successful track record as the 1st team hockey captain, matriculating in 2002.

After consultation and persuasion from her beloved parents, von Brandis decided to take up the call to action and stand for ward councillor in 2016 and was duly elected. In the first two years of her political career, she quickly demonstrated her abilities and willingness to serve the residents of Ward 26. Since 2018, she has served as a Member of the Mayoral Committee in the following portfolios:

• 2018 – 2020: Corporate Services
• 2020 – 2023: Civil Engineering Services
• 2024 – 2024: Planning and Development

In June 2024, she became the Executive Mayor of George Municipality. A devoted wife to Ulricke von Brandis, Mayor von Brandis prides herself on being an Executive Mayor who is responsive to the needs of all residents and advocates for transparency, accountability, and positive community engagement.
