George Municipality’s electrical team recognised for excellence in revenue management
George Municipality’s Electrical Engineering Services Directorate received the “Excellence in Revenue Management” award at the Ontec User Conference held at Fancourt, George, from 21 to 23 September 2026.

George Municipality’s Electrical Engineering Services Directorate has been recognised for its contribution to effective electricity revenue management, receiving the “Excellence in Revenue Management” award at the Ontec User Conference held at Fancourt in George from 21 to 23 September 2026.
The award acknowledges the Directorate’s work in strengthening revenue management processes within the electricity services environment and comes as recognition of the team’s ongoing efforts to improve operational efficiency and support the Municipality’s financial sustainability.
Director of the Electrical Engineering Services Directorate, Mr Michael Rhode, congratulated the officials involved in the achievement. “This award is a wonderful recognition of the dedication and commitment of our team. I am extremely proud of our officials and the work they do every day to ensure that our electricity services are managed effectively and responsibly,” said Rhode.
Rhode said effective revenue management plays an important role in supporting sustainable municipal service delivery. “Sound revenue management is essential to ensuring that the Municipality has the resources to maintain our electrical infrastructure, invest in improvements and continue delivering services to our communities. This recognition demonstrates what can be achieved when we work together, continuously improve our processes and remain focused on our responsibilities,” he said.
He added that the award should be viewed as a collective achievement, while extending a special acknowledgement to the Municipality’s Finance colleagues for their contribution. “I want to thank every member of the team who contributed to this achievement. Awards such as this belong to the entire team. I would also like to extend a special thank you to our colleagues in Finance for their contribution and support in attaining this award. Their collaboration with the Electrical Engineering Services Directorate has been important in strengthening our revenue management efforts,” said Rhode.
“It is encouraging to see the work of our officials being recognised, and I hope this motivates us to continue raising the standard and looking for further opportunities to improve,” he added.
George Municipality congratulates the Electrical Engineering Services Directorate and the Finance team on this achievement and acknowledges the officials whose commitment, collaboration and professionalism contributed to the recognition.
