Notice to Exporters: Invitation to Participate in Anuga 2025 – Cologne, Germany

NOTICE TO EXPORTERS
INVITATION TO PARTICIPATE IN ANUGA 2025 – COLOGNE, GERMANY
04 – 08 OCTOBER 2025

The Department of Trade, Industry and Competition (the DTIC) invites South African exporters to apply for participation in the South African National Pavilion at the ANUGA International Food Products Exhibition, taking place from 04 – 08 October 2025 in Cologne, Germany.

ANUGA is one of the world’s leading trade fairs for food and beverages, providing an excellent platform to showcase South African products, promote innovation, and explore international trade opportunities.

Financial Assistance Offered (to qualifying firms):
• Exhibition space and booth rental
• Freight forwarding for display materials
• Air travel assistance (up to R20,000 for SMMEs and BOEs only)
• Daily subsistence allowance (R3,500/day for SMMEs and BOEs only)

Product Focus Areas Include:
Processed foods, non-alcoholic beverages, preserved foods, spices, soups, frozen products, approved meat exports, health and organic products, sweets, seafood, and gourmet food items.

Important Information:
• Deadline for application submission: 09 June 2025 at 16:00
• Submission method: E-mail only (no hand-delivered or couriered applications will be accepted)
• Required documentation: Completed EMIA application form and supporting documents, including a valid B-BBEE certificate (maximum Level 8) or sworn affidavit for entities with turnover < R10 million

UPDATE 4 – Water Outage – Heatherpark

Complications have arisen with the maintenance undertaken yesterday in Heatherpark. A failure occurred overnight. A team is on-site to repair the pipe.

A water tanker is roaming around Candlewood Street.

Residents requiring water, or experiencing no water, are encouraged to contact Complaints Desk on 044 801 9266/62.

George Municipality apologizes for the inconvenience and thanks residents for their patience.

GARDEN ROUTE DAM LEVEL – 3 June 2025

Percentage storage at new raised dam wall height 90,92%

PLANNED POWER OUTAGE – HOEKWIL – 5 June

Please note that Planned ESKOM Outage in Wilderness for 5 June 2025 has been postponed.

George Municipality will still be going ahead with planned maintenance in Hoekwil and Duiwerivier Road will be switched off on Thursday 5 June from 09h00 – 16h00 for the purposes of doing alterations to the electrical mains. Consumers are warned to treat the installation as being live for the full duration as the supply may be resumed at any time within the notified period.

PUBLIC NOTICE: TEMPORARY CLOSURE AND RELOCATION OF PLANNING AND HUMAN SETTLEMENTS DEPARTMENT OFFICES

The Human Settlements, Planning and Development Department currently located at 70 York Street, Main Municipal Building
will be temporarily closed due to relocation to new premises at 46 Market Street (Old York Hostel). The closure will occur in phases as follows:

5th Floor Offices Town Planning (relocating to 2nd Floor, 46 Market Street):
⏳ Closed from Tuesday, 3 June 2025 to Wednesday, 4 June 2025
✅ Offices reopen on Thursday 5 June at the new location @ 07:45

4th Floor Offices Building Control (relocating to 1st Floor, 46 Market Street):
⏳ Closed from Wednesday, 4 June 2025 to Thursday, 5 June 2025
✅ Offices reopen on Friday 6 June at the new location @ 07:45

Human Settlements Offices (currently in Old Sanlam Building and Old Townhouse, relocating to Ground Floor, 46 Market Street):
⏳ Closed from Thursday, 5 June 2025 to Friday, 6 June 2025
✅ Offices reopen on Monday, 9 June 2025 at the new location at 07:45

During this period:
  • • Notices will be posted at all affected office entry points.
  • • Updates will be shared on the municipal website and social media platforms.
  • • Clients will be notified via automated email responses.
  • • Security personnel will have printed notices for public reference.
