PUBLIC NOTICE UPDATE: PIPE BURST – MERRIMAN STREET

As previously communicated, George Municipality is still attending to repairs in Merriman Street. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, the repair time has been extended.

Water supply is now expected to be restored by 21:00 tonight, 26 August 2025.

A water tanker will be roaming the affected areas to provide temporary water supply.

Residents are advised to make the necessary arrangements until the supply is fully restored.

WATER OUTAGE UPDATE – TAMSUI INDUSTRIA & STEINHOFF

The valve replacement in PW Botha Boulevard has taken longer than expected due to unforeseen circumstances.

Water supply is now anticipated to be restored by 22:00 tonight, 26 August 2025.
Residents are urged to contact the after -hour emergency number on 044 801 6300 should they experience a prolonged water outage.

PUBLIC NOTICE UPDATE: LANDFILL SITE REOPEN

Please be advised that the landfill site will be open today from 12:30 pm .

Although machinery is still not fully operational, arrangements have been made to create additional space. We kindly request your cooperation as follows:
– Please follow the directions given by the staff on site.
– Do not dump on access roads.
– Only dispose of green waste and builders rubble , and at the designated areas where you are directed to dump.

Your cooperation will ensure smooth operations during this period. Thank you for your understanding.

CONTROLLED BURNS: NORTH EAST, DENNEOORD

George Fire Rescue and Disaster Management services will carry out a Control Burn in North East of Denneoord on Wednesday (27/08) and Thursday (28/08) for the control of alien vegetation.

Residents should be unaffected as the wind direction will move smoke away from the residential area.

Control burns serve to reduce the fuel loading (dead leaves, tree limbs, and other debris), in areas and are implemented to prevent wildfires spreading.
