Urgent Public Notice: Upgrading of Meul Sewage Pump Station – Night Work & Services Interruption
A planned construction activity of the UPGRADING OF MEUL SEWAGE PUMPSTATION is scheduled to take place tomorrow, the 13th of August 2025, during the normal working hours. Due to the nature of activities for the day, it is envisaged that the contractor will be onsite until 22H00 (outside working hours ).
SERVICE DISRUPTION:
The contractor will be doing a switch over from a temporary bypass to a newly refurbished inlet works at the Meul sewage pump station, and no service should be interrupted.
TRAFFIC IMPACT:
None.
ACCESS TO SITE:
Access to the construction site will be strictly controlled. In accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, no members of the public will be allowed in the construction area.

TRAFFIC UPDATE: N2 past Keinkrantz – 12 August 2025
The accident scene cleanup on the N2 past Keinkrantz has been completed. All lanes are now open and traffic flow has returned to normal.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation.
An accident involving multiple vehicles has occurred on the N2 past Keinkrantz. Motorists are advised to drive cautiously. A stop-and-go is currently in place.
The George Disaster Management team and Western Cape Provincial Traffic are on the scene.
Upgrading of Eden Sewage Pump Station – Weekend Work
A planned construction activity of the UPGRADING OF EDEN SEWAGE PUMPSTATION, initially scheduled to take place on weekdays, will also include the Saturdays of Aug 16th, 23rd and 30th in August 2025 from 07h00 to 13h00. The construction activities extend from the Eden Sewage Pumpstation to Dikkop and Pikkewyn Streets.
SERVICE DISRUPTION:
Minor operational interruptions can be expected during the construction works. Advance notifications of planned temporary disruptions and the effects thereof will be issued via social media.
TRAFFIC IMPACT:
Residents, road users, and pedestrians are advised to exercise caution during the construction period. Please adhere to flag persons, temporary construction works and road signage.

Unplanned water outage Seaview
George Municipality is aware of a water outage in Seaview, Pacaltsdorp. The affected streets are Dahlia, Chrysanthemum, and Amaryllis. Municipal teams are on-site investigating the issue.
A water tanker will roam the affected area. Residents are encouraged to report a water outage to 044 801 9266 until 16:30, and 044 801 6300 after 16:30.
