PUBLIC NOTICE: Low Water Pressure and Water Outage in Wilderness

Issued by George Municipality, 10 January 2025 @19:00

A pipe burst near Waterside Road, combined with recent bursts, has left the reservoir at critically low levels. Municipal teams are attending to the issue and sourcing critical components required for the repair. Temporary and alternative repairs have been attempted without success.

Due to restricted access on a forest trail where the burst occurred and the need for specialised components, full repairs are scheduled for the Saturday morning of 11 January 2025.

Residents can expect low water pressure for the remainder of today and into tomorrow. To maintain reservoir levels, everyone is urged to use water sparingly.

A water tanker will be stationed at the Astron Petrol Station (across from Wilderness Spar) from 08:00 on 11 January 2025 to assist residents with water.

For those experiencing a complete water outage, please contact the after-hours call centre at 044 801 6300. We apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your cooperation.
