Western Cape Integrated Waste Management Plan (WC IWMP) 2027–2032 — Public Participation and Online Workshop

The Western Cape Government invites stakeholders, municipalities, industry partners, civil society organisations and members of the public to participate in the public participation process for the review of the 3rd Generation Provincial Integrated Waste Management Plan (2023–2027) and the development of the 4th Generation Western Cape Integrated Waste Management Plan (WC IWMP) 2027–2032.
The WC IWMP provides strategic direction for waste management in the province and supports sustainable waste services, improved environmental outcomes and the transition towards a resource-efficient circular economy, aligned with the National Waste Management Strategy.
The Draft WC IWMP Situational Analysis Report is available for public comment from 19 February 2026 to 20 March 2026. Stakeholders are encouraged to review the report and submit comments using the official commenting template, and to share the documents across relevant platforms to encourage participation.
An online Public Participation Workshop will be held as part of Phase 1 (2025/26): Situational Analysis to present findings and inform the next phase of the IWMP process.
