Western Cape Government launches Export Global Accelerator Programme (EGAP) Fund to scale exports
* Exports are a cornerstone of economic growth and job creation. The Western Cape Department of Economic Development and Tourism is bolstering this vital economic lever by launching its Export Global Accelerator Programme (EGAP) Fund.
EGAP is a strategic initiative designed to support local businesses to expand their international market reach and unlock export opportunities.
As the Western Cape economy becomes increasingly integrated into global trade networks, building a robust, high-performing pipeline of export businesses is essential to boost exports. The fund offers grants on a co-funding basis to eligible export-enabling intermediary organisations across a range of sectors to boost exports through diversifying product offerings and unlocking international opportunities.
Participating organisations can leverage the funding by facilitating activities that support:
* International Market Development: Assisting businesses to identify, access, and establish a footprint in strategic overseas markets.
• Late-Stage Innovation: Supporting late-stage products and service innovations that drive global market expansion.
• Export Compliance Tools and Systems: Equipping established exporters with the platforms, tools, and certifications required to meet strict international standards and scale volume.
