ESKOM LOADSHEDDING CONTINUES
Sunday, 26 June 2022: Eskom regrets to inform the public that Stage 4 loadshedding is anticipated to continue from 05:00 on Monday morning until midnight at least until Wednesday. This is due to unlawful and unprotected labour action at a number of power stations, which has caused delays in carrying out planned maintenance and repairs.

REPORTS OF FLOODING IN PARTS OF GEORGE ARE TRICKLING IN, RESIDENT ARE URGED TO BE CAUTIOUS
Following torrential rains since yesterday, several reports of flooding have been received this morning and our emergency teams are on standby and attending to the reported incidents.
Streets flooded include:
• Victoria Street
• Merriman Street
• Hope Street
• CJ Langehoven Street
• Courtney Street (Courtney Street flooding left lane. Motorist’s to be careful travelling in the left lane opposite Kentucky and Dougies).
• Market Street
• St Leger street
Traffic Department is going to close Union and Hope Street
SOME GO GEORGE ROUTES HAVE BEEN SUSPENDED DUE TO FLOODS
Several roads are flooded, and buses are suspended in several areas.
Accessibility all over town is being assessed.
Please note the following routes have been suspended with immediate effect due to flooding:
• R9 Industrial Loop
• R14 Pacaltsdorp Industrial
• R18 Parkdene – Blanco

The power supply has been restored to Tamsui and Groeneweide Park. Areas that are still off are a portion of the Airport Road, Proefplaas & Portion Herolds Bay.

UNEXPECTED POWER OUTAGES
We have just lost power to the entire Tamsui substation. The industrial area is off at the portion Pacaltsdorp, Bos En Dal, George South, Portion George Industrial. Also portion thembalethu and Erf 325.

Unplanned power outage on the airport line and portion of Herolds Bay. Electricians are on their way.

USE ELECTRICITY SPARINGLY TO AVOID POSSIBLE OVERLOAD TRIPS
Customers are advised to use electricity sparingly tomorrow morning when the power comes on at 6:30 am after load shedding. We are expecting an extreme increase in load as everyone rushes to get ready for work etc. We require the assistance of the public, to avoid possible overload trips.
On another hand, the power supply has been restored in New Dawn Park and Pacaltsdorp.

UPDATE: ANOTHER FAULT FOUND AFFECTING NEW DAWN PARK
An additional fault was identified on another section of the line and so the entire New Dawn Park is currently isolated whilst electricians are busy with repairs. Repairs are expected to be completed inside the load-shedding window.

UPDATE: POWER SUPPLY PARTIALLY RESTORED IN NEW DAWN PARK AND PACALTSDORP
Power supply to a large portion of the affected areas (New Dawn Park & Pacaltsdorp) has been restored. The electricians found the fault and isolated it. However, three transformers will remain off until the repairs are done. The estimated time of repair is three (3) hours.

Portions New Dawn Park and Pacaltsdorp are currently experiencing unexpected power outages. Electricians are on their way to investigate the cause of the outages. We’ll keep you updated of any developments about this power outage.
