AANSUIWERINGSBEGROTING 28 SEPTEMBER 2023

Kennis geskied hiermee ingevolge Artikel 28 van die Wet op Plaaslike Regering: Munisipale Finansiële Bestuur, 2003 (Wet no.56 van 2003) en Artikel 23 van die Munisipale Begrotings en Verslagdoening Regulasies 2008 onderskeidelik, dat die Aansuiweringsbegroting goedgekeur is tydens die Raadsvergadering van 28 September 2023.

Die dokument sal beskikbaar wees vir publieke inspeksie op die munisipale webtuiste, www.george.gov.za, 5 Oktober 2023.

Lede van die publiek word uitgenooi om skriftelike kommentaar by die munisipaliteit in te dien met betrekking tot die dokument. Alle kommentaar en insae moet gerig word aan “Die Munisipale Bestuurder, George Munisipaliteit, Yorkstraat 71, George 6530”.

2023/24 FINANCIAL YEAR

ADJUSTMENT BUDGET 28 SEPTEMBER 2023

Notice is hereby given in terms of Section 28 of the Local Government: Municipal Finance Management Act, 2003 (Act no.56 of 2003) and Section 23 of the Municipal Budgets and Reporting Regulations 2008 respectively, that the Adjustment Budget was approved during the Council meeting held on 28 September 2023.

This document will be available for public inspection and comments on the municipal website www.george.gov.za,  from 5 October 2023.

Members of the public are invited to submit written comments or representations to the municipality in respect of this document. All comments and inputs must be directed to “The Municipal Manager, George Municipality, 71 York Street, George 6530”.

Water has been restored to the Kraaibosch and Groenkloof area.

The George Municipality would like to thank the residents for their patience.

A portion of Pacaltsdorp is experiencing a power outage.

The following streets are affected by this outage: Church Str, Beach rd, Clinic str and Mission Str.

Our electrician is on site assessing the damage to line.

The estimated time of repair will be communicated soon.

Repairs are in progress to the bulk water pipeline on the corner of Monte Vista Drive and Glenwood Avenue.

Please note this is the second fault that took place late last night following a pressure imbalance. The pipeline is not standard size and as such the fittings and couplings are not readily available.

Our appointed contractors are on site and the updated estimated time of repairs is 12h00

Repairs were completed last night on the corner of Monte Vista Drive and Glenwood Avenue.
The component failed this morning. Additional fittings and socketed valves are being sourced from Oudshoorn.
The external Contractors and the Municipality are on site attending to the problem.

The Water tankers have returned to the previous positions.

WATER OUTAGE – Herold’s Bay, 29 September @ 7h20

George Municipality is aware that Gus Meyer, Spekie Gericke Drive and the Camping site in Herolds Bay is without water.

Water tankers are on site.

Municipal teams are investigating to identify the source of the problem.

Part of the bulk water pipeline has just failed after water was restored. Teams are on site and shutting water off.

The Water tankers have returned to the previous positions.

The updated estimated time of repair is 5 hours.

George Municipality apologizes for the inconvenience caused.

Repairs are nearly completed on the bulk water pipeline. Due to the odd size of the installation, a number of the fittings and couplings were not readily available. After being unable to source from all service providers in George, the required spares were manufactured in Mossel Bay today.

The water should be reopened by 5pm today and it will then take at least an hour for the water network to stabilize and for pressure to build up. The water network should be fully restored by 6pm. The water trucks will remain stationed in the positions below until after 6pm.
