NOTICE is hereby given that the electricity supply will be interrupted on TUESDAY 04 JUNE 2024 FROM 09H00 TO 16H00 to do alterations to the electrical mains. Consumers are warned to treat the installation as being live for the full duration as the supply may be resumed at any time within the notified period.

Should circumstances prevent the work from being carried out during the abovementioned period; the work will be done on WEDNESDAY 05 JUNE 2024 FROM 09H00 TO 16H00.

Please note that Electrotechnical Services temporarily switched off Thembalethu streetlights. This measure was taken to help mitigate possible tripping in Thembalethu which may be caused by an overload due to planned work that has not been switched back.

Municipal Offices Closed For Upcoming Public Holidays

Please be advised that the George Municipality offices will be closed for the upcoming Public Holiday, General Election Day, on the 29th of May 2024.

Please be advised that the emergency number of the credit control department outside of business hours has been changed.

The new emergency number is 072 501 1843.

This number is to be used strictly for EMERGENCY BLOCKED ELECTRICITY METERS during the following hours: Monday to Friday from 16:30 to 20:00, Saturday from 8:00 to 20:00 and Sunday from 8:00 to 14:00

REFUSE COLLECTION DURING THE UPCOMING PUBLIC HOLIDAYS

Households may put out SEVEN BLACK, FOUR GREEN and an UNLIMITED number of BLUE bags on their weekly collection day.
Additional tied bundles of branches are allowed if they are shorter than a meter in length and can be picked up by one person.
