Repairs to the bulk water pipeline continued overnight however a number of fittings required were not available. These have been sourced from Oudtshoorn and are en-route. The updated estimated time of repair is 4 hours.
Three water tankers are stationed at the following positions:

A fire on a current transformer at the ESKOM SUBSTATION next to SCHAAPKOP has been extinguished.
ESKOM will be able to isolate the faulty current transformer and should be able to restore power to Rosedale, Pacaltsdorp and the Industrial area around 20h30 when loadshedding is lifted.
A slight delay can be expected. A further update will be provided should there be a further issue.

DESCRIPTION:
Two new traffic circles in York Street between Hope Street/ R102 circle and Union Street/Plattner Boulevard.
BACKGROUND:
The two new traffic circles and the associated road upgrades are required to accommodate the additional traffic to be generated by the new Mediclinic, the 1onYork development and the future Crocodile Farm residential development. The design of these road upgrades aligns with both Municipal and Provincial requirements, and the project is funded by various private stakeholders.
REMEDIAL WORKS:
Repairs must be done to defaults on the asphalt on three small sections in the left lane of the North and South bound road carriageways.
This repair work will be done on Thursday 28 September 2023 and all road users are requested to please be patient and adhere to the traffic accommodation measures that will be in place to assist with traffic flow and ensure the safety of the construction workers.
An apology is extended to all road users inconvenienced by the remedial works.

Complications with the pipeline are delaying repair work. The new estimated time of repair is 22h00 tonight.
A water truck is rotating between Kraaibosch Estate and Groenkloof. A second water truck is on its way to support the peak load.
Tankers will be roaming through both areas.

The water supply is temporarily turned off due to the cutting in of a new water supply pipeline.
The water supply will be interrupted for 2hrs.

Update Kraaibosch Estate/Groenkloof area –

Water will be interupted for another 5 hours. Contractor deployed to assist the Municipality. This is a bulk supply pipeline failure.
Repair work continues in the Parkdene area and the team is busy with the final two joints on the MV line. Testing needs to be completed before energizing can take place.
The estimated time of repair been amended to 18h00 today.

Repair work continues in the Parkdene area. Four faults in total have been found on the MV line that supplies a large portion of Parkdene. The repairs have required trenching on steep sidewalks, and rain and flooding of the trenches has held up the work overnight. Additional resources have been pulled in to speed up the repair.
The estimated time of repair is 16h00 today.
