INFORMATION STATEMENT REGARDING THE RAISING OF EXTERNAL FINANCING OF R303.3 MILLION – CAPITAL PROGRAM
2022/2023
 
PURPOSE:
The purpose of this information statement is to obtain comments from the public, National Treasury and Provincial Treasury regarding the anticipated raising of external loans of R303 367 500 for financing of a portion of The
Municipality’s 2022/2023 capital expenditure program.
 
BACKGROUND:
The Municipality intends to enter into a borrowing agreement to finance the
purchase of several vehicles, plant and infrastructure assets as part of the capital expenditure program for the 2022/2023 financial year. The assets are needed to ensure sustainable service delivery. The Municipality has already
approved the capital program for the 2022/2023 financial year during the approval of the budget on 30 May 2022.

CIDB:                Construction Industry Development Board (Registered as 1 CEB or Higher)

The supporting documents proving valid registration with the above-mentioned entities need to be presented at the draw and will serve as an access pass to limit attendance numbers.

Eskom loadshedding up until 29 September 2022

Eskom Stage 3 loadshedding will continue to be implemented between 00:00 and 16:00 until Thursday, 29 September while Stage 4 loadshedding will be implemented daily during the evening peaks from 16:00 until 00:00.

Public Notice: Tree pruning CJ Langenhoven Road

Issued by George Municipality 22 September for immediate release

 

The Parks and Recreation department, George Municipality will on Saturday, 24th  September 2022, prune trees between the George Sports Club and Honda George in CJ Langenhoven Road. Tree pruning will take place in both directions of the road with lanes closed intermittently between 09h00 and 16h00 as needed to perform work safely.

The public is requested to make use of Davidson Road as an alternative access route as delays can be expected.
