NOTICE is hereby given that the electricity supply will be interrupted on  Monday, 23 MAY  2022  FROM  09H00 TO 16H30 for the purpose of doing alterations to the electrical mains.  Consumers are warned to treat the installation as being live for the full duration as the supply may be resumed at any time within the notified period.

Pipeburst and water outage in Stockenstrom Street. Sections of Adderley, Church, Wellington and Berg Street are also affected by the outage. Estimated time of repair is 3 – 4 hours. 2 Water trucks are in place in Stockenstrom Street. Issued by George Mun 20 May 2022 at 09h00

Update on power outages. Electricians are still working on lines to Remskoen Lane, 10 farms and 1 Informal Settlement as well as the Airport line which affects 9 farms/clients. Vegetation over large areas need to be cut back. This and bad weather have been causing delays in the switch on of these areas. We apologise for the inconvenience caused which is out of our control. Update on power outages: Electricians on sites estimating new time of repair for Taaibos Lane and Hoekwil area another 2 hours from now. Airport Lane will be addressed after midnight tonight. 7 Passes was just restored. George Municipality apologizes for the inconvenience caused due to circumstances out of our control. Services to the Parkdene area are in the process of resuming and routes 15, 16, 18 and 51 are running again.
We apologise for the inconvenience to passengers that was caused by taxi unrest and blocking of our buses.

Water supply was restored to Wilderness Heights following the extended power failure this afternoon.

Please note that the reservoir will need time to refill, whereafter the network will stabilize.

Our Electrotechnical teams continue to address a number of power failures following high winds earlier today.

UPDATE POWER OUTAGES: Estimated times of repairs of power outages

Due to rain which is making repairing of power lines difficult and cutting back of vegetation in certain areas several high voltage faults may only be restored in several hours’ time or by tomorrow. We have also lost power again on the Airport line which affects several farms and in a portion of Herold’s Bay.

Estimated time of repair for the following areas are:

Portions of Wilderness Heights – 22h00.

Portion of Hoekwil – 24h30

Saasveld area – 22h30

Pinedew, most likely to be restored tomorrow.

Strong winds have caused several high and low voltage power outages in George area. Our electricians are working non-stop to get the power-up and running again. Zone 6 was restored in the meantime.

Public Notice: Water Outage – Wilderness Heights Area

George Municipality is aware that some areas in Wilderness Heights are without water, following the extended power failure this afternoon. A water truck has been arranged and will be stationed at Bundu Shop on White’s Road.

Please note that it is expected that the power failure will take some time to resolve. Once power has been restored the reservoir will need to refill, whereafter the network will stabilize.

Our Electrotechnical teams continue to address a number of power failures following high winds earlier today.
Updates will be provided.
