Moderate rainfall in the catchment area has led to increased water levels in the Touw River. The river mouth has been breached by SANParks to manage water flow and prevent flooding.

The Executive Mayor of George Municipality, Ald Jackie von Brandis will be joined by her Mayoral Committee and officials from George Municipality for a Mayoral Outreach in Touwsranten. Residents are invited to join MMC’s and officials who will be at the Touwsranten Community Hall to tend to any service delivery related queries they may have.

Please be advised that all three eye test machines at the Driving Licence Testing Centre (DLTC) in Pacaltsdorp are currently non-operational. As a result, the centre is temporarily unable to accept renewals and applications for learner’s and driver’s licenses.

Description of the activity:
It is proposed to upgrade the existing pumpstation (PS1) located on the Herold’s Bay beachfront, to construct a new pumpstation (PS4) on Skimmelkrans Lane, to install a pipeline from PS1 to PS4 and install a pipeline from PS4 to the Herold’s Bay Wastewater Treatment Works.
