Damaged Water Pipe in Uniondale

Due to a damaged water pipe in Uniondale, Lyonville will be without water for a while. A water truck will be roaming the streets of Lyonville to supply residents with water.

Repairs will be completed between 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM.

This is to inform you that emergency repair work will be conducted in Thembalethu.

The following streets will be affected by this repair work:
Mahe Street
Kazi Street
Tawu Street
Yawani Street, Zone 9
Please note that the exact Estimated Repair Time is set for today at 13H00.

The cooperation of all users of municipal water is essential and is greatly appreciated.

This decision follows the successful recovery of generation capacity and significant progress in replenishing emergency reserves. Although overnight replenishment is still needed, these developments will result in a stable power system.

Ongoing planned maintenance stands at 6 660MW, in alignment with our summer period maintenance strategy. This increased level of maintenance is necessary to prepare for winter to further improve reliability and meet license and regulatory requirements.
