23:00 – 01:30
Consumers are reminded to use electricity sparingly after power returns.
Please do not switch high-usage equipment on immediately after Load shedding. Consumers are urged to turn off high-usage equipment and where possible to not switch on appliances such as stoves and kettles for at least 30 minutes after load shedding. This will reduce the risk of overload tripping on the network and reduce our current high MVA spikes.
Reporting power outages
Please do not phone the afterhours number or the Electrotechnical Department to report that you have no power immediately after load shedding is scheduled to be lifted. Please be aware of the rotational switching on and wait at least 30 minutes before reporting no power. The directorate will be aware if there has been a possible substation trip which needs to be sorted out.

Notice of Road Closures due the upgrading of Swartvlei Road (DR1609) to Rondevlei
NOTICE OF ROAD CLOSURES DUE TO THE UPGRADING OF SWARTVLEI ROAD (DR1609) TO RONDEVLEI
Bo-langvlei Road (DR 1604 & DR 1625) will be closed between the N2 National Road and Rondevlei Village from
29 May 2023 to 31 August 2023.
An alternate route is available along the N2 to Swartvlei Road (DR 1609).
The Western Cape Government is working hard to maintain our roads. Please drive carefully during this period of construction. Let us work together to ensure that our roads are safe. BETTER TOGETHER.
As part of the Upgrading of DR 1609 to Rondevlei, the culvert at km 6.5 on DR 1625 has to be demolished and a new structure constructed. This requires the route closure to traffic from the N2 (Rietvleie) to Rondevlei and then onto Karatara. Only residents along DR 1604 and DR 1625 ( Bo-Langvlei Road) will be allowed access to their private properties.
Traffic will be accommodated along the N2 to Swartvlei Road (DR 1609). The safety and convenience of the travelling public are of utmost importance and every effort will be made to ensure that all temporary road signs, cones, flagmen and speed controls are maintained and effective, and that courtesy is extended to the public at all times.
The public is requested to be patient and exercise caution when using the alternate routes.
Any queries related to this closure may be directed to the Engineer Assistant at 079 971 1754.
